About Peter Stanley

Hello! I'm Peter Stanley, a dedicated designer and installer with a passion for creating custom automation solutions for homes and RVs. With nearly two decades of experience in high and low voltage installations, terminations, commissioning, and deployment, I bring a wealth of technical expertise to every project.

My Journey

  • Technician at Midway Amusement:
I began my career as a Technician, spending a year repairing ticket-dispensing amusement games such as Super Chex, Ski Ball, Whac-A-Mole, Ticket Claw, and Coin Pusher. This role honed my skills in maintaining and troubleshooting complex gaming systems.

  • Technician at Casino Niagara:
For five years, I specialized in repairing slot machines, ensuring seamless operation and enhancing the gaming experience for patrons.

  • Certified Electrician:
Over eight years, I worked across residential, commercial, and oil and gas sectors. During this time, I achieved notable projects such as installing fiber optic systems and in-building LTE transmitters for Bell Canada, significantly improving communication infrastructure for various clients.

  • Technical Specialist at PL Light Systems:
In this role, I collaborated with a team of technical and quality specialists to develop tooling and automation for a high-volume horticultural luminaire assembly line. This included designing and implementing 3D-printed jigs, tools, and other innovative solutions. I also worked closely with management to develop interconnected high-output horticultural LEDs aimed at replacing HPS and MH luminaires in the greenhouse industry. Additionally, I contributed as a member of the panel in the development of UL8800, a safety standard for horticultural LED luminaires, ensuring our products met the highest industry standards.

About Bill Dolphin

Hello! I'm Bill Dolphin, a passionate automation specialist and installer dedicated to designing and implementing advanced automation systems. With extensive experience in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry, I excel at creating efficient and reliable automation solutions that exceed client expectations.

Automation at Home

My passion for automation began with a personal project to fully automate my home. This includes a remotely controlled water shut-off system for appliances, which helps prevent flooding from a finicky water valve oddly placed beside a furnace. This aspiration inspired me to pursue a professional path dedicated to creating practical and effective automation solutions for others.

My Journey

At PL Light Systems, I played a pivotal role in transforming a cardboard-covered assembly line into a fully ESD-compliant and semi-automated operation, significantly enhancing production efficiency and reliability. Transitioning to ProVantage Automation as an Electrical Design Specialist, I developed a wide variety of automated packaging systems, focusing on electrical design to streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies.

Currently, as an Automation Specialist at Dolphin Sigma Solutions Inc, I lead automation initiatives, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. My earlier roles include working as a Test & Integration Technician at L3 Wescam, where I repaired and maintained circuit boards and high-precision laser systems, deepening my expertise in advanced electronics and automation technologies. Additionally, I have held automation-focused positions at Northern Airborne Technology and Stanpac Inc., where I optimized production processes and implemented automation solutions to enhance operational efficiencies.

Skills and Expertise

I excel in DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), coaching and mentoring, automation systems design and implementation, electrical design and engineering, electronics troubleshooting, process optimization, efficiency improvement, and advanced problem-solving techniques such as the 5 Whys analysis and ideas development.

Education & Certifications

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, McGill University
  • Certificate of Technical Studies in Electronics Technician Common Core, British Columbia Institute of Technology

Personal Interests

I am passionate about electronics, automation, solving problems, and finding efficiencies.
